Refining and improving circular knitting has been discussed several times in recent weeks. Here is one of my favorite techniques.

Position the cable of your circular needle under the stitches on your left hand needle and hold it there while you make your first stitches.

Make your first stitch and slide it over beside the last stitch on the cable. Pay attention to the segment of yarn between the stitches.

Make the second stitch and slide it next to the first to lock it into place.

It is easier to make 3 to 4 stitches before dropping the cable. Now examine your work and see that the stitches are side by side just as if they had been knit on a straight needle.
